My buddy Scott showed this to me last night. Magical and warm minimal wave synths from Snowy Red's Mickey Mike with the golden voice of this Belgian lady (maybe her name is Carol) poured on top make for an almost eerie premonition of Portishead, Beach House, or Julia Holter. 1981. Blade Runner came out in 1982 for those keeping score at home, so "So Low" could have been Pris' theme if they'd been privy to it. Then again, maybe this just sounded like a lot of garbage back then...but I doubt it.
"So Low" is the B side of Carol's only release, a 7" titled Breakdown. You can find similar lost treasures over at Minimal Wave Records, if you're willing to dig through what they've dug up for you.
